Alexis Sound 的成立代表我對揚聲器認知的一個新的里程碑.

一開始: 測量難. 這裡簡單談了.

階段二: 知道怎麼測量了之後, 設計相對簡單些, 因為所以基礎知識都懂了, 設計是融會貫通.

階段三: 開始尋找"無敵終極揚聲器". 一但覺得手中握有啟用聖器的祕笈, 誰能不心動? 所以做了無數的箱子, 試過無數的單體組合, 很貴的單體, 很知名的單體, 四處找揚聲器比較高下.

階段四: 開始明白測量的極限. (It takes a while) 明白揚聲器是藝術的一種 (It takes longer). 簡單說, 沒有任何測量能完整描述一個揚聲器. 設計師必須懂得利用測量的長處跟極限. 相對值比絕對值重要

階段五: 大澈大悟. 知道揚聲器設計 is all about compromises and trade-off.

Double Scissors - 想像力

兒子今天跟我說: 學校老師不讓他用imagination.

我問了一下究竟.

日文老師教大家剪刀石頭布, 這個兒子會了. 兩個兒子都知道, 在剪刀石頭布的世界, 爸爸有一種秘密武器 - 叫 double scissors.

Double scissors 出四個手指, 威力非常強大:

• 碰到剪刀, 這是兩把剪刀, 所以勝於一把剪刀.
• 碰到布, 這是兩把剪刀, 當然勝於布
• 碰到石頭, double scissors有四個手指, 同時具有布的實力, 所以也剩於石頭.

簡單說, double scissors是無敵的.

我是要教孩子Think outside the box. 玩剪刀石頭布一段時間, what can you do? Can you invent something else? Imagination is powerful, limitless, and free.

後來他發明了Dynamite - not as powerful as my double scissors. 很明顯的, 在學校這些無法Follow rules. 現在我得告訴他, follow rules 跟 imagination有什麼不同.
